Munns Family Reunion - July 2012

Judd's dads side of the family has a big Family Reunion every year. We always look forward to it! This year the family was meeting in Flagstaff, Arizona. Some of the family in Utah decided to take a detour and spend a couple of days in Moab, Utah before heading down to Flagstaff, and we joined them! Monday morning we went to Arches and the boys LOVED it. We didn't have a backpack carrier for Lincoln so we just went to Sand Dune Arch because it was a nice easy walk that we could just carry Lincoln. The boys loved the sand and the nice shade. Lincoln stuck his face right in the sand just before we left.. he realized right away that was a bad idea.

Right after we left Arches we headed to Flagstaff. Along the way, off the side of the highway was a little turn off where there were Dinosaur footprints. Of course we had to stop and see that! Sladen loved it. We just wandered around with our 'tour guide' (a 16 yr old boy that made up all kinds of stuff). It was a great detour and so nice to get out and stretch our legs.

On Tuesday some of the family went to Slide Rock (Judd & Sladen), the rest of the family went to a Deer Farm (Heather & Lincoln). Lincoln loved the deer. We had fun wandering around and feeding the deer.

On Wednesday we went swimming at the Aquaplex in Flagstaff. It was a really nice, fun, indoor pool. There was a lazy river, slides and a whirl pool for the bigger kids; for the little kids there was little slides and a splash pad. After we had been there for an hour there was a message coming over the loud speaker that everyone needed to get out of the pool so they could do a safety check. We grabbed our towels and left everything else by the pool while we were herded into the locker rooms. While we were waiting for the 10 minute safety check they informed us that they had to filter the water (we don't know why) and that it would be a 45 minute wait. Of course we didn't want to wait because we were planning on leaving about then. We decided to just head back to the cabin. Judd went to get the rest of our stuff and the lifeguard's told him he couldn't go in while they were doing a safety check. He told them we were leaving and needed our stuff. They told him that if he went in against their orders he would be BANNED. He laughed (because we don't live there.. who cares if we get banned) and walked past and grabbed our stuff. We laughed all the way back to the cabin. We just hung out the rest of the afternoon.

Thursday was our day to head home. We decided to stop on the way and see The Grand Canyon (who knew it was so out of the way..).

We needed another leg stretch as we were hitting Utah so we stopped at Glen Canyon Dam. We all got out of thecar, ran to the bridge, took a couple pictures and ran back to the car. It was SO windy.

Poor Lincoln was crazy tired headed home and was just laughing like a crazy person.

We didn't end up getting home til 1 am but we had a wonderful time visiting with family and relaxing. We can't wait for next year!
